With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Matthews of Georgetown, South Carolina, born in McColl, South Carolina, who passed away on March 9, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her spouse Kenith Merldon Matthews; her parents, Harley Ard and Lula Driggers Ard; her sons, Rick Matthews, Billy Preston, Kenny Matthews and Frank Matthews; her grandchild Keli Matthews; her great grandchild Joshua Ward, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Ferol Teel Matthews; and her siblings, Frances Matthews, Judy Allen, Evans Watts, Jimmy Ard, Buddy Ard and Roger Ard.

She is survived by : her children, Charlene Jordan (Junior) of Georgetown, Pat Matthews (Renee) of Georgetown, Tony Matthews (Kathy) of Georgetown and Terry Matthews (Sandy); her daughter-in-law Ginger Ogburn-Matthews; her brother Edward Ard of Eden, NC; her sister-in-law Pat Ard of Johnsonville; and her nephew Chris Preston. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
