She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd George Kirkland, Sr. and Lillian Vondula Streetman Kirkland; her great grandchild Violet Capers Kennedy-Crooks; her brother Lloyd George "Sonny" Kirkland, Jr. (Shawn); her nephew Jason Kirkland; and her siblings-in-law, H. Lavern McConnell and S. Julliette James.
She is survived by: her husband Johnny McConnell; her sons, Danny McConnell and John McConnell, Jr. (Elizabeth Ann Rose); her grandchildren, Jack Taylor McConnell Kennedy, Madison Capers (Jabbrel Drayton), Lilly McConnell Kennedy (Jared Crooks) and Emma Katherine Kennedy; her great grandchild Prince Drayton; and her siblings-in-law, Jackie J. McConnell, Harriett, Frank Davis, Ellen, Rodney Ward, Vicki, Dale Baker, Ginger, Tom Hamblin, Timmy and Jennifer McConnell. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church (84 Forest Ave, Georgetown, SC 29440). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen (Komen.org) in support of breast cancer research and awareness.
