It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie R. Browder of Georgetown, South Carolina, who passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Browder and Mary Browder; his former wife Florence Browder; his sisters, Ethel Knight and Lulu Tisdale; his son Kurtiss Hewitt; and his stepgrandchild Whitney Bone.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette; his son Frankie Hewitt (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Dale Hewitt (Jessica), Joey Hewitt (Renee), Nicole Burbage, Tiffany Britt, Brandon Lynn, Donald Mercer, Jr. (Brenda) and Chris Mercer; his stepchildren, Karen Richardson (Edward), Melissia Bone (Dwayne) and Donald Mercer (Donna); and his nephews, George, O'Neal Bellamy, Herman Browder and Roy Lee Knight. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Graves Station Baptist Church (44 Vine Ct, Georgetown, SC 29440). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
