He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake David Cook and Ethel Bell Tager Cook; his brother Shelby Gene Cook; his great-nephew Timothy Langfitt, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Mendon Ellison.
He is survived by: his daughter Leeann Bates (Todd) of Summerville; his sisters, Alva Kirby of Elgin and Joann Crider (Bobby) of West Columbia; and his sister-in-law Laverne Cook. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
