James Erwin Sr. Obituary
James Russell Erwin Sr. 62, of Gilbert SC passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.James was born on March 25, 1959 in Akron Ohio to the late Francis and Glenna Taylor of Baltimore.
"As for me, I am already being poured out as a libation, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which is the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:6-8
James worked as a truck driver all his life and his passions were riding his Harley, cruising the lake on his boat, spending time at his beach house, and restoring classic cars, but what he loved and cherished more than any of that was his family and friends. His love for his family was like no other. He worked hard to provide for his family in hopes that his influence and strong family values would be passed down to his kids, and they were. He touched so many people in so many ways and he was truly an inspiration to all that knew him. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
James will be forever remembered by his wife, Angie; sisters, Doris and Laura of Baltimore and Debby of Florida; brothers, Karl of Delaware, David of Georgia and Wayne of Florida; sons, Christopher Huth of Dillon, Bryan Erwin Ricklin of Dillon, James Erwin Jr. of Mayesville and Jamie Erwin of Bishopville; step children, Nicholas of N. Augusta, Tiffany of Graniteville and Wesley of N. Augusta; grandchildren Jayden, Katelynn, Faith, Jaiden, Rebekah, Trent, Jayla, Weston, Zoe, Little James, Baylee, Kirby, Tyler, Brittany, Michelle, Heather, Casey and Gabriella.
James was predeceased his sisters Donna and Linda.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at their home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family 1000 Springs Hill Road Gilbert, SC 29054.
