We announce the death of Amelia H. DeWitt of Goose Creek, South Carolina, who passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 79. Amelia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Marion Henderson, Sr. and Blanche Richey Henderson; her former husband Norman L. "Doll" Crawford; her sons, Norman L. Crawford, II and Bryan S. DeWitt; and her siblings, Mickey Henderson, Olivia Sherard, Helen Spann, Sandra Matthews, James E. "Bud" Henderson, Sr. and G. Marion "Moose" Henderson, Jr..
She is survived by: her husband H. Wayne DeWitt; her daughters, Yvette Helmly (Robbie) of Moncks Corner and Erin Jakobsen (Brandon) of Goose Creek; her grandchildren, John N. Black (Windy) of Moncks Corner, Zach Jakobsen of Goose Creek and Zoey Jakobsen of Goose Creek; her great grandchildren, Sophia Noel Black and Alia Weathers; and her pet Millie.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made in Amelia's memory to the Berkeley Animal Center, 131 Central Berkeley Drive, Moncks Corner, South Carolina 29461.
