He was predeceased by : his brothers, Patrick Brooks, William M. Brooks and Myles Brooks. He is survived by : his wife Dolores Baez Brooks; his children, Jose Luis Brooks Baez and Maria Auxliliadora Clapp; his grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Anderson and David Lee Greene (Katelyn); and his great grandchildren, Ally Crawford, Adam Brooks, Stella Greene, Harper Greene and Audrey Greene.
