It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Mathis of Goose Creek, South Carolina, who passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joseph Mathis to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas "Boot" Mathis and Dorothy Hickman Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Robyn J. Mathis of Goose Creek; his children, Joseph Michael Mathis (Courtney) of Maryland, Bryan Dykes (Christina) of Hanahan, SC, Angela Snyder (Robert) of Summerton, SC and Amanda Hefner (Joel) of Goose Creek, SC; his grandchildren, Blake Mathis, Liam Mathis, Jace Mathis, Tristan McFadden, Elizabeth Abernathy, Rosemary Hefner, Quinn Hefner, Makenna Hefner, JT Hefner, Jacob Dykes, Parker Dykes and Hailey Dykes; and his siblings, Debbie Filyaw (Charles), Sandy McElveen (Scott) and Jerome Mathis (Candace). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cornerstone Ministries Church (1900 New Zion Rd, Lake City, SC 29560). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goose Creek, in memory of Joe Mathis, 141 S. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
