Gary leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Gary’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Gary will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Engle and Mildred Irene Hoover Stephens; his son Paul Anthony Stephens; and his siblings, Arthur Stephens, Billy Stephens and Jessie Carr.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carrie McGinty and Connie Sawyer; and his siblings, Gail Campbell and Johnnie Stephens (Joan). He is also survived by several grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and his beloved dog.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home (315 Main St, Graniteville, SC 29829). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
