Mary Ellen Leopard Johnson Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Ellen Leopard Johnson of Graniteville, South Carolina, who passed away on May 22, 2025 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Ellen Leopard Johnson to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Leopard and Ruth Gibson Leopard; her husband Edward Nelson Johnson, Sr.; her sons, Edward Nelson Johnson, Jr. and Bruce Alan Johnson; and her siblings, Gene Leopard and Betty Leopard Taylor.

She is survived by: her sons, Steve Johnson (Candy) of Wilmington, NC. and Eric Johnson (Trish Blush) of Aiken, SC; her brother-in-law Dennis Taylor of Dublin, GA; and her grandchildren, Tiffany Coleman (Robert), Tanya Odom (Jerry), Gabe Moyer (Sarah), Shannon Johnson, Brie Johnson, Sherri Rich (Kenneth), Summer Fare (Chas), Samantha Bridges (Mike), Brandon Johnson (Sarah), Stephanie Wilson (Adam), Nelson Johnson (Victoria) and Payton Johnson. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. James Lutheran Church (200 Laurel Dr, Graniteville, SC 29829). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
