He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Wood and Mary Gunter Wood; his siblings, A. B. Wood, Margurite Wood, Judy Kinkle, Larry Wood, Leo Wood and Ann Wood; and his brother-in-law Frankie Porter.
He is survived by: his wife Sheryl Ann Porter Wood; his children, Tim Wood (Sandy) and Amy Phillips (Scott); his sisters, Gloria Taylor (Ray), Vicki Wise (Robert), Cindy Taylor (Larry), Lisa Shealy (Larry) and Joyce Wood; and his close friend Steve Wilson. He is also survived by six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren.
