He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel Botkin and Mabel Carpenter Botkin; his wife Frances M. Herrin; his son Phillip Eugene Botkin; his brothers, Claude Botkin (late Inez), Wayne Botkin (late Genevieve) and Bryce Botkin (late Jeannine); his brother-in-law Lester Thomas; and his sisters, Fern McKeown (late Tom), Maxine (late Dale English) and Irene Gilbert (late George).

He is survived by : his daughters, Elaine Helm (Chuck) of Kennesaw, GA and Fran Barnes (Sonny) of Barnwell, SC; his grandchildren, Bryce Barnes (Jennifer), Andrea Helm (Logan Parker) of Acworth, GA and Blake Barnes (Morgan) of Barnwell, SC; his great grandchildren, William, Kristopher, Jameson, Elijah Barnes of Spartanburg, SC and Norah Barnes of Barnwell, SC; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Finnegan of Aiken, SC and Lorena Wood Jackson of Eureka, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
