He was predeceased by: his parents, John Herbert Tibbs and Francis Bartley Tibbs; his son Joseph Edward Tibbs (Eddie); and his sister Florence Olivia Tibbs-Wilkey. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Brakefield Tibbs (Peggy); his children, Mary Amanda Tibbs Acker (Mandy) and John Carl Tibbs; his son-in-law Lauren James Acker (Al); his grandchildren, Jamie Lynn, Lauren Nicole Acker, Sarin Marie Tibbs, Mari Camella Price (Jamie), John Callan Tibbs and Colton Zayne Evans (Nicole); and his brother Harry David Tibbs.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Brakefield-Tibbs Family Cemetery.
