We are sad to announce that on July 8, 2025, at the age of 71, Melva Jean Roberts Duvel (Great Falls, South Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Henry Cecil Roberts; her son Jason Duvel; and her sister Brenda Roberts. She is survived by: her mother Helen Leona Baker Roberts; her husband Ronald Duvel; her children, Sharon Moree (Jimmy) of Surfside Beach, SC, Heather Plyler of Great Falls, SC and Jeff Duvel (Heather) of Newburg, MO.; her grandchildren, Hunter McManus (Kaylee), Jordan Roberts (Breanna), Aidan Moree, Laney Duvel (Ethan) and Kenzie Duvel (Gage); her great grandchildren, Grayson, Dawson and Haysleigh; and her sister Donna Carnes (Shannon) of Lancaster, SC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“So sorry to hear of the passing of Melva. I worked with Melva and Sharon at the Red Cross in Charlotte. She always has a good story to tell. I remember she was given the duty of ordering food for the staff when the company paid for lunch. It was not an easy task to satisfy everyone. She liked to order KFC because she loved the coleslaw and it was nearby. I always enjoyed talking to her. May you find comfort in the great memories of her life. Beth Turner”
