She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hanvey and Nellie Burrell Hanvey; her son Thomas "Ricky" Motes; her grandson Kenneth Richard Motes; and her siblings, Louise Thomas, Sue Scott and Samuel Hanvey.
She is survived by: her children, James Motes (Tommie), John "Jay" Lazar, Joyce Motes and Angelia Willis (Liberty). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
