He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Bo and Johnnie Mae Merritt Richey; his children, Shenell Floyd-Ferguson of Mauldin, SC, Wantonta N. Golden of Greenville, SC, Keeghana Richey-Morgan of Travelers Rest, SC, Travis Henderson (Kristie) of Piedmont, SC and Montrell Cowan of Anderson, SC; and his close friend Eleanor Riggins. He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
