He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Ladd and Evelyn Ladd; his son Calvin James "C. J." Ladd, II; and his siblings, Clyde Gravley, Jr., Wain Matson Ladd and JoAnn Dobbins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Misty Belt of Easley and Malinda Nix (Chris) of Pickens; his grandchildren, Breeanna and Daniel Belt; his siblings, Pearl Barrett (Roy), Clara Kelly (Fred) and James Ladd; and his close friends, Wade and Allison Bailey (family: Freddie, Jackie Bailey, Randy Bailey, Sherry Bailey, Tonya Young). He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
