He was predeceased by : his wife Sarah Robinson Lowery; his parents, Willie Lee Lowery and Eva McCraw Lowery; his siblings, Furman, Hoyle, Glynn, Dewey Lowery, Lorena Mosteller and Mildred Mostella; and his children-in-law, Doug Williams and Brenda Lowery.

He is survived by : his children, Lynn Lowery (Beverly), Cecilia Williams (Doug) and Susan Robbins (Tony); his grandchildren, David Lowery (Victoria), Mark Lowery (Sara), Elizabeth Johnson (Brett), Tena Cagle (Mel), Melissa Fair (Chris Tatum), Bryan Fair and Heather Gilliam (Colt); and his great grandchildren, Miranda, Esmè, Sylvan and Myles.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes (6710 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Reedy River Baptist Church (871 N Hwy 25 Bypass, Greenville, SC 29617). The military honors was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (595 Old Liberty Rd, Easley, SC 29640).
