He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Ansel and Mattie May Hallum Alewine; and his siblings, Martha "Betty" Smith (Buddy) and Martin A. Alewine, Jr. (Mary). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Alewine; his children, Marianne E. Alewine, Katherine Pulliam (Lonnie) and Edward "Eddie" Cliatt, Jr. (Mitzi); and his grandsons, Cameron Pulliam and Zachary Alewine.
