He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Evangeline McAteer Johnson; and his brother Richard Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Blakely Johnson; his son David Michael Johnson; his grandsons, D. J. and Austin James Johnson; his sisters, Christine Burrell, Jerri Head, Irene Wilden, Jackie Dressner and Shirley Raffaldt; his siblings' children, Joey Dressner, Sammy Head, Tonya Loftis, Leslie Shepherd and Nikki Marie; and his brother-in-law Jack Blakley.
