“Bernard was a great friend with whom I enjoyed many adventures. We were schoolmates from first grade thru 12th; he was an Eagle Scout in our troop (a level that I never attained), although we earned our hiking merit badges by walking the railroad tracks between Sans Souci and Travelers Rest, to his Grandmother's house; he and I attended St Mark Methodist Church where he was active in MYF and continued to be an church leader for many years.”
