He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Plavan and Irma Plavan; his mother-in-law Frances Kirby Hardin; his siblings-in-law, William Linkenheimer (Bill), William Anthony (Bill) and Lynn Plavan; and his nephew Kevin Plavan.
He is survived by: his wife Trena Frances Hardin; his children, Renae Villano (Vinny) and Matt Plavan (Roxanne); his granddaughter Marquel Patton (Paul); his siblings, John Plavan, Marlene Thomas, Elaine Linkenheimer, Julie Anthony and Karen Plavan; his niece Katie Plavan; his nephews, John Thomas, Michael Thomas and William Linkenheimer, Jr.; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Annie Thomas, Kate Thomas, Scott Thomas and Matthew Thomas; his father-in-law Jack Irvin Hardin; and his sisters-in-law, Annlynne Hardin Farr (Stephan) and Joan Hardin Powell (Ted).
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hahn Funeral Home (123 North Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15209). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church (24 Maryland Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15209).
