He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Gilmer and Josephine Gilmer; and his significant other Mary Ann Gilmer. He is survived by: his significant other Barry Gilmer; his sister JoAnn Cole (Charles); his sons, Fred and Dave (Kristine); his stepsons, Tripp Johnstone (Sarah), Ken Johnstone, Scott Johnstone (Michelle), David Johnstone (MaryBeth) and Reid Johnstone (Leigh); his grandchildren, Logan Alderman (Payne), Keyes Andrews (Glenn), Elliott Gilmer (Emma), Marshall Gilmer (Sully) and Sam Gilmer; and his great grandchild Reese Alderman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (200 N Washington Ave, Greenville, SC 29601). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
