She was predeceased by: her mother R. K. Johnson; and her husband Dr. Jay Matthews. She is survived by: her children, Barbara Wilson (Alan), Carol Formanack (Barry) and John Matthews (Erin); her grandchildren, Jason Wilson, Zach Wilson, Brandon Formanack, Christine Heath (Formanack), Kate Matthews, John Matthews and Brianna Wilson; her great grandchildren, Hunter Wilson and Parker Wilson; and her sister Corretta Grass (Lew).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bob Jones University and Morningside Baptist Church.
