He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gunter and Janie Gunter; his son Stephen T. Gunter; and his brothers, Douglas Gunter and Andy Gunter.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy R. Gunter; his sons, Jack W. Gunter Jr. (Dorett) and Derrick K. Gunter; his brothers, Julius S. Gunter (Susan) and Donald Gunter (Judy); his grandchildren, Sean T. Gunter (Nicole), Stephen T. Gunter II, Elena T. Garnett (Scott) and Kaula E. Gunter (Ming); and his great grandchildren, Caleb Gunter, Wyatt Gunter and Gatlyn Gunter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Palmetto Mortuary (1017 Mauldin Rd, Greenville, SC 29607). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
