He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry James and Maude Rodgers Barrineau of Kingstree; his in-laws, Lamar Gardner and Elizabeth McDonald Reeves; his brother James Rodger Barrineau; and his son-in-law Thomas Olin Monts, III.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Reeves Barrineau; his sister Phyllis Barrineau Baker; his sister-in-law Gayle Reeves Naugler; his children, Sonya Barrineau Monts and Jacob Charles Barrineau Jr. (Leslie Stone); and his grandchildren, Henry, Clara, Claire, Daniel, Reeves and Miles. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
