He was predeceased by: his wife Nola Jean Batson Smith; and his parents, Jim Smith and Ethel Cleo Yearwood Smith. He is survived by: his children, Douglas Shane Smith (Julie) and Jennifer Smith (J. Lilly); his sister Elenore Smith; his grandchildren, Alstyn and Kalyn; and his great grandchild Gabby.
