He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Smith and Elmer Smith; his wife Lillis Brown Smith; his siblings, Robert Smith and Sara Francis Carson; and his son-in-law Randy Cantrell.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Smith Cantrell and Thomas G. "Chip" Smith, Jr. (Dee); his grandchildren, Emlee Cuevas (Rick), Aimee Hyatt (Bob), Lloyd Smith (Katie) and Jake Smith (Mekenna); and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Sofia Cuevas, Olivia, Ava, Nolan, Emma Hyatt, Beckham and Adeline Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
