He is survived by: his wife Kathy Brashier Higgins; his sons, Dr. John Tate Higgins (Trina) and David William Higgins (Rebecca); his stepsons, William Benjamin Duncan (Christy) and James Brian Duncan (Kelley); his grandchildren, Penelope Holder, James Sawyer Duncan, Carter Ansley Duncan, Tilman Lynn Duncan, Hunter Tate Higgins and Palmer McKinney Duncan; and his siblings, William Drayton Higgins (Christie) and Fran Hay Morton (Lane). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
