It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Newton Walker (Greenville, South Carolina), who passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Herman Walker Jr. and Elizabeth Wilson Walker; and his brother Douglas Wilson Walker. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Carroll Walker; his sons, John Walker Jr. (Vanessa) of Travelers Rest, SC, Harriss Cottingham (Mary) of Greenville, SC and Hallam Cottingham (Teresa) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Winslow Walker, Walker, Mary Hampton, Crosby, Hallam, Riley and Bryce Cottingham; his brother Herman Walker III (Cary) of Travelers Rest, SC; and his siblings-in-law, Maggie Walker of Seattle, WA, Lynn Mitchell (Tommy) of Greenville, SC and Robert Carroll (Jane) of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
