She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Leroy DeGroat, Sr. and Mildred Marie Mitchell-DeGroat. She is survived by: her caregiver Aide; her husband Gratain Clery of Taylors, SC; her children, Marie Green of Albany, NY, Edward Peterson Jr. (Shawna) of Newburgh, NY, Chantalay Cain of Albany, NY and Shallon Cain; her close friend Sammie of Taylors, SC; her siblings, Bernice Hayes of Newburgh, NY, Doris St. Jean (Ben) of Lakeland, FL, Harold, Wilbur, Lawrence, Robert, Lorraine, Blanche, Carol, Pearl, Brenda and Betty; her daughters, Theresa Murphy and Tawana Dunham; her grandchildren, Shondae Peterson, Tre'Shon and Shon Peterson; and her great grandchild Zamaria Norvill. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
