He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Colquitt (Carl) and Marie Estelle Ridlehoover Spooner; and his sister Pat Shoemaker. He is survived by: his girlfriend Leanne Fuller of Greenville, SC; his son Casey Spooner of Berlin; the mother of his child Carole Raines Spooner; his brother Charles Spooner (Deborah) of Jacksonville, Florida; his brother-in-law Larry Shoemaker of Donalsonville, Georgia; and his friend Skip. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, Skip requested that memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.
