He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Cox. He is survived by: his mother Katherine A. Cox of North Carolina; his daughter Shunda Hamer of Greenville; his stepchildren, James Brockman (Aquita) of Greenville, Christopher Brockman of Greenville and Mary Lindsay (James) of Charlotte; and his close friend Fannie Brockman. He is also survived by four brothers, six sisters.
