She was predeceased by: her husband Donald McCarson; her parents, William Thompson and Essie Helton Thompson; her sons, Billy and Jim McCarson; and her siblings, Mildred Cox, Cathy "Cat" Bishop, Carolyn "Boots" Simmons and Dennis Helton.
She is survived by: her sons, Donny McCarson (Pam) and Jerry McCarson (Renee); her grandchildren, Brandy McCarson, Lindsey Gordon (Jimmy), Kayla Timms, Ericka McCarson and Brandon Baker; her great grandchildren, Lauren Whitfield, Michael Hilley, Liam Gordon and Peyton "Pay-Pay" Timms; and her great great grandchild Miller Kate Whitfield.
