It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Eugene Barnhart Sr. of Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Richard Eugene shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Richard Eugene farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlie Winston Barnhart and Esther Smith Barnhart; and his brother John Lewis Barnhart. He is survived by: his wife Martha Pace Barnhart; his children, Richard Eugene Barnhart, Jr. of Powdersville, Rhonda Peskopos (George) of Greenville and Whitney Smith (Brian) of Omaha, NE; his sister Barbara Reeves of Greenville; and his grandchildren, Brittney Seaborn (O. C.) of Easley and Brandon Peskopos (Cierra) of Simpsonville. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Graceland Cemetery West (4814 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611).
