She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Gilbert; her parents, O. E. Brown and Ruby Satterfield Brown; her siblings, Virginia Mears and O. E. "Buster" Brown; and her son-in-law Ronnie Bayne.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Bayne, Kathy Himlin (Richard), Melissa Bishop (Bobby) and Scott Gilbert; her grandchildren, Shon, Kris (Terrilyn), Courtney (Jason), Justin (Casey), Veronica, Amanda (Tanner), Brittany (Kevin) and Brandyn; and her nieces, Jan Mears Collins and Heidi Brown. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Hampton Park Baptist Church (875 State Park Rd, Greenville, SC 29609).
