He was predeceased by : his grandparents, James E., Gladys Currie Player of Sardinia, SC, Ralph and Julie Scott Watts of Turbeville, SC.. He is survived by : his parents, Hugh Player and Cyndi Watts Player; his siblings, David Player (Paula) of Myrtle Beach and Hilary Player Caldwell (David) of Duncan; and his nephews, Dillon, Hayden, Ethan Caldwell, Miles and Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peru Missions or the Missions at Second Presbyterian church, 105 River Street, Greenville, SC.

“Cyndi and Hugh - My heart is aching for you and your family over the loss of your beloved Spencer. I met him on several occasions at Sardinia and heard him play there once. He was a brilliant musician and I am told he freely shared his talent for the enjoyment of others. I know you were, and always will be, very proud of him and thankful for the blessing of his life.
