He was predeceased by: his parents, Demetrios Platis and Maria Platis; and his wife Dimitroula "Goldie" Stokas Platis. He is survived by: his daughter Fotini Maria Petropoulos (Panagiotis "Pete" Petropoulos); his nephews, Nath Kapoor, Nick Skenteris, John Banias and Joseph Zambrano; and his niece Helen Kansios.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral or the charity of one's choice.
