Rawls (Greenville, South Carolina), born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, who passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. As William departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. He was predeceased by: his wife Jean; his daughter Betsy Pangle; and his brother Teele. He is survived by: his children, Blair Rawls (Becky) and Leslie Russell (William); his son-in-law Ben Pangle; his grandchildren, Matt Pangle (Hannah) of Columbia, SC, Rachel Rawls and Caroline Russell; and his sister Hazel Carr.
