With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wynell Chastain Long of Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on August 17, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Oliver Long; her son Clay Long; and her parents, Eunice Chastain and Abner Chastain. She is survived by: her son Scott Hughes Long; her daughter-in-law Sheila Long; her sister Eyvonne Sherwood (David); her grandchildren, Robert Charles Walden (Krystle), Levi McKinnley Long (Kaylee) and Eliza Long Smith (Wheeler); and her great grandchildren, Henry "Hank" Walden and Stevie Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on behalf of Wynell to Pelham Road Baptist Church, 1108 Pelham Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29615.
