He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Daniel McElroy and Emma Lou Spence McElroy; his siblings, Jessie Lee McElroy, James McElroy and Vivian Lawson; and his stepgranddaughter Ginger Horton.
He is survived by: his children, Kenny McElroy (Sheryl) of Greenwood and Karen M. Tholen (Gary) of Edmund, OK; and his stepchildren, Brenda Lee Minor of Ninety Six, Ronnie Harold Horton (Lynn) of LaGrange, GA, Charles Michael Horton (Nancy) of Greenwood and Jerry Wayne Horton, Sr. (Cindy) of Hodges. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
