He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas G. Upton and Lois Pannell Upton; his sisters, Lois Dianne Upton and Deborah Meece; his granddaughter Jessica Upton; and his pets, Rascal and Houdini.
He is survived by: his children, Wallace Upton (Anna), Gerald Upton (Tammy), Thomas Upton (Noelle) and Margaret Upton Carmack; his brother Harris Preston Upton, Sr. (Adair); and his grandchildren, Courtney Fingar (Mike), Nichole Sorrow (Daniel), Aaron Upton, Douglas Parker, Casey Moore (Bennie), Taylor Bridgeman, Gerald Upton, Jr. (Kristen), Sydney Morris, Vincent Marino, Cyrus Upton, Dayzi Simpson, Jazmyn Head and Azelyn Upton. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
