He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Higgins and Lillie M Holmes Higgins; and his siblings, Howard Higgins, Francis Coats, Sallie Holden, Willie Mae Holmes and Lona Bell Williams.
He is survived by: his brother Heyward Higgins of Greenwood; his sibling's children, Tachrislyn Coleman, Towanda Thomas, Satrina Thomas Laila Drake, Jamia Cloud, A'lani White, Winter Thomas, A'Marlee Chisholm, Carson Coleman, Christian Coleman, Anthony White, Jr., Rashad Thomas and Kovie Thomas; his sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Freeman, Ellen Quarles and Brenda Payne; and his close friend Rick Domonick.
