He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hartfield and Cleo Matthews Hartfield; his brothers, Charles Hartfield and Olith Hartfield; and his sister-in-law Antoinette Maria Hartfield.
He is survived by: his sons, Jason Hartfield and Jon Erik Hartfield; his girlfriend Suzanne Doucette; and his sister-in-law Melva Hartfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
