He was predeceased by: his parents, Eulis Fortner and Ida Waldrop Fortner; and his siblings, Eulis Jerome Fortner and Hazel Edna Bailey. He is survived by: his children, Robert Lane Fortner of Greenwood, Katherine Fortner Dickerson (Dan) of Greer, Anna Fortner Clark (Craig) of Greenwood and Laura Fortner Bentley (Rick) of Greenwood; and his sister-in-law Patricia N. Fortner of Woodruff, SC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
