It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Higgins (Greenwood, South Carolina), born in Edgefield, South Carolina, who passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Higgins and Lillie Holmes Higgins; his son Henry J Carroll; his son-in-law David Calhoun; and his siblings, Lona Bell Williams, Willie Mae Holmes, Sallie Holden and Frances Coates.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Higgins of Greenwood, SC, Lona Calhoun of Hodges, SC, Donna Moss (John) of Callison, SC, Henritta Higgins of Ninety-Six, SC and Hazel Greene (Furman); and his brothers, Heyward Higgins of Ninety-Six, SC and George Higgins of Greenwood, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
