He is survived by: his wife Frances Eugenia Crawford Dence; his sons, Thomas Hairston (Jennifer) of Greenwood, John Andrew Dence, Jr. (Shayna) of Smiths Sation, AL and Scott Dence (Amber Joyner) of Brooklyn, NY; and his grandchildren, MaKenzie Hairston, Madeline Hairston, Major Hairston, John Andrew Dence, III and Jayden A. Dence.
