He is survived by: his wife Mattie Lights; and his children, Jonathan Lights (Nancy), James Lights (Minnie), Shelton Lights, Margie Williams of Troy, SC, Evine Legron (Willie) of Bradley, SC, Diane Carroll of Greenwood, SC, Rosa Lee Carroll of Greenwood, SC, Gloria Jean Carroll of Greenwood, SC and Gladys Beatrice Moss of Greenwood, SC. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of many nieces, nephews.
Viewing was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Percival - Tompkins Chapel (330 Magnolia Ave, Greenwood, SC 29646). The lying in state will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church (706 Flint Hill Church Rd, Troy, SC 29848). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at the same location.
