He was predeceased by: his father John Edward "Ed" Cox; and his grandparents, Harold H., Claudine Story Bentley, James and Doris Smalley Cox.
He is survived by: his mother Bernice Bentley Cox; his brother Donald Cox; his niece Megan Cox (Jose Bonilla) of Burien, Washington; his nephew Harrison Cox of Greenwood, SC; and his partner's children, Evey and Mary Carlisle of Greenwood, SC..
