He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Fergurson Patterson; his son Marion Symmes Patterson Jr.; and his grandchildren, Ashley Koch (Dave), Katie Patterson, Brooke Ellis (Trevor), Marion Symmes III, Joshua Patterson (Beth) and Spencer Patterson (Sierra).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1417 Cokesbury Rd, Greenwood, SC 29646). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1417 Cokesbury Rd, Greenwood, SC 29646).
